Wood Turning is one of the Japanese traditional craft technique of Yamanaka Shikki (lacquer ware in Kanazawa Prefecture) with over 450 years history, using solid pieces of wood to form shapes. “Soji” means “the plain wood” before lacquer applied and this series features the beautiful character of the natural wood. “Hako” means “the box” and it can be used in multiple ways that is perfect for storage of small objects like sewing set or accessories. It is also suitable for food so that it can be a lunch box or tableware for everyday use.
